Checklist, in meal prep

Weekly Meal Prep Checklist

Weekly meal prep makes it easier to eat consistently, saves time and money, and helps you hit nutrition targets. In a large French study, people who planned meals ahead had better diet quality and lower odds of obesity (Ducrot 2017). This checklist breaks the job into planning, shopping, cooking and safe storage.

Tips

Small moves that make the checklist easier to finish

Batch cook versatile staples like plain chicken, roasted root vegetables, or quinoa; these can be mixed and matched into different meal combinations throughout the week to prevent flavor fatigue.
Invest in quality, same-size meal prep containers that are microwave, freezer, and dishwasher safe. Uniform containers stack efficiently, maximizing fridge and freezer space and simplifying cleanup.
Designate a specific 'prep day' (e.g., Sunday afternoon) and allocate 2-3 uninterrupted hours. This consistency builds a sustainable habit, making meal prep less of a chore and more of a routine.
